PIG

Basic Principles

PIG is a professional interpretation gateway designed to connect visitors in Korea with qualified interpreters through a structured, trust-aware matching system.

01

Professionalism

PIG is not simply a general-purpose person-to-person matching service. Interpreters are evaluated according to language ability, professional qualifications, experience, availability, and service status.

02

Qualification Before Proximity

The system should not simply select the nearest interpreter. A potential interpreter must first satisfy the essential requirements of the request, including language capability, qualification, availability, and eligibility. Location can then be used as a matching and ranking factor.

03

Trust and Safety

Both visitors and interpreters must be protected. Identity verification, contact verification, professional qualifications, trust history, reports, incidents, restrictions, and suspension status can be used to determine whether a participant is eligible for matching.

04

Request-Based Matching

The visitor creates an interpretation request containing the required language, service type, schedule, and location. The system evaluates suitable interpreters against that request.

Request → Eligibility → Matching → Acceptance → Booking → Interpretation → Completion

05

Mutual Acceptance

A match is not automatically a booking. An eligible interpreter receives an opportunity to accept the request. The booking becomes confirmed only after the required acceptance and validation steps are completed.

06

Independent Operation

The platform is designed so that its major components can operate independently while maintaining a consistent business state. Authentication, interpreter information, requests, matching, bookings, safety, and trust are separated into clear functional domains.

07

Data Durability

Important records should not be casually destroyed. Requests, matches, bookings, trust information, and safety records should preserve their operational history wherever appropriate. Critical deletion or privacy-related removal should be handled as a controlled process.

08

Human Oversight

Automated matching is a decision-support mechanism, not an absolute authority. Safety, trust, qualification, restriction, and exceptional cases may require administrative or human review.

09

Privacy

The system should expose only the information necessary for a particular stage of the service. Personal, identity, contact, qualification, and incident information should be handled according to its purpose and access requirements.

10

Operational Reliability

PIG is intended to operate as a real production service. The architecture therefore separates the web application, database, background processing, notifications, and operational infrastructure so that one component does not unnecessarily interfere with another.

11

Simple Core, Extensible Architecture

The initial system should establish a reliable relational foundation before introducing more complex infrastructure.

Django → PostgreSQL → Gunicorn → Nginx

Additional technologies such as geographic databases, background workers, queues, realtime communication, and notification systems can be introduced when the business requirements justify them.

THE CENTRAL PRINCIPLE

Professional interpretation through trust-aware matching.

PIG connects the right visitor with an eligible interpreter for a specific need, while prioritizing qualification, safety, reliability, and accountability over simple proximity or availability.
